Manufacturing Careers

AMD depends on handpicked teams of professionals to help produce in some of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world. We bring together world-class designers technicians, leading submicron technology specialists, advanced fab automation experts, and seasoned veterans of the semiconductor industry. Our fabs are marvels of innovation and efficiency, and we're excited for you to play a part in their future.

Make a Difference

When you work in AMD manufacturing, your efforts are directly tied to the success of the business. Our integrated teams enable you to learn a variety of technical and manufacturing skills, from operating equipment to equipment repair and failure troubleshooting. More specifically, you can help:

  • Support all aspects of our fabrication processes — including photolithography, thin film, diffusion/implant, CMP, CFM, etch, Bump and product engineering activities
  • Operate, maintain, and repair specialized processing equipment in a clean room environment
  • Ensure high-volume output without compromising safety or quality and costs.
  • Optimize production by performing preventative maintenance, participating in process control, driving problem resolution and continuous improvement processes.
  • Design and conduct experiments that validate manufacturing processes
  • Manage the facilities — from mechanical systems and electrical distribution, to water purity and waste management
  • Develop and implement the next stages of our automated precision manufacturing technology

How to Get Started

Ready to join our manufacturing team? Ideally, you should have minimum a two-year technical degree or a regional adequate degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Electronics technology
  • Manufacturing technology
  • Facilities technology
  • Semiconductor manufacturing
  • Military training (avionics, electronics, or nuclear)

In addition, you should have related skills or experience in the following areas:

  • Facilities planning and technology (RODI, HVAC, water quality and process-waste recycling)
  • IC fabrication (lithography, diffusion, thin films, etch, metallization, CVD and planarization)
  • Failure/defect analysis
  • Systems process integration
  • Process design and yield improvement
  • Test and debug techniques
  • Industrial automation software
  • Semiconductor manufacturing technology
